SPECIAL FEATURES

   quality standards specified above.

- BHEL have manufactured heat exchangers from pressure range of full vacuum to 308 kg/cm²(g) and have the capacity of manufacturing for higher ranges also.

- In addition to Normal ferrous and Non ferrous material,   Heat Exchangers of special materials like In-Conel and Monel have also been manufactured & supplied by BHEL.

CONFORMATION TO STANDARDS.

- Industrial Heat Exchangers have been designed, manufactured  &  supplied as per the requirements  of following codes.

              . Indian Boiler Regulation (IBR)

- Requirements as per two or more codes prevail at the same time if desired by customer.

SPECIAL FEATURES / CONSTRUCTION

- When air is involved as cooling media or media to be
   cooled, Fin’s are employed to enhance external surface
   of the tube to cater for poor heat transfer coefficient of air.

- Depending upon size limitation and pressure drop
   limitation suitable design of fins is selected. Type
   of fins available are Wire wound, plain fins, crimped
   fins, L-Fins, G-Fin, Integral Fins etc.

- Constructionally different type of coolers are
   manufactured at BHEL and these are Shell and
   Tube Type, Plug-in Type,Frame and Tube type etc.

- BHEL is manufacturing these type of Coolers since more
   than last 37 years and have supplied all over India  and
   also executed various export jobs for LIBYA, NEPAL,
   BANGLADESH, AZERBAIZAN, BHUTAN, NEWZELAND,
   MALAYSIA ETC.

- BHEL have designed, manufactured and supplied these
   Coolers in wide range of Heat dissipation and design
   conditions such as pressure and temperature.

- Based on application, water chemistry and design
   condition material for tubes, tube sheet and other
   components is decided.

BHEL  is capable  of  doing Thermal  and    Mechanical design including optimization & thermo-hydraulic design of all size and capacity of feed water heaters in compliance with code requirements.

         Special Softwares are used for   Design Optimization : Thermal
         and Mechanical.
       
         DRAFTING : Careful design catering to the needs of the customer
          and code requirements, proper care taken during manufacturing
          results   in    manufacturing   of  quality product  and  increase
          efficiency  of cycle.

          Dedicated research and development efforts leading to the
          updating of designs.

          High pressure feed water heaters for Power Plants of Unit Rating
          upto 250 MW have been supplied by us.

          Feed water heaters to different type of construction like vertical
          Header up, Header down or Horizontal, type as per customer’s
          requirement have been supplied.
