Bhopal, May 10 : A Traffic Park was dedicated today to the children of Bhopal by Mr. S.N. Roy, Executive Director BHEL, Bhopal. The senior officers of BHEL, President BHEL Ladies Club Mrs. Madhuri Roy and other office bearers of the club, union representatives and children in large number were present on this occasion.


This Traffic Park has been developed in Berkhera area near Nehru Rose Garden, BHEL to educate the children about various traffic signs and rules. The zig-zag road with traffic sign boards and signals of this park will not only teach them about road safety rules but also give them an opportunity to sharpen their driving skills.
Every year lacs of people die in road accidents around the globe. In recent decades the death toll in road mishaps has gone up by many folds. One of the main reasons attributed to this is evasion of traffic rules or ignorance of traffic rules. By abiding the rules of traffic religiously, we can reduce the chances of road accidents to a great extent. In view of the above, this Traffic Park has been developed.
The foundation stone of this Traffic Park was laid down in January 1999 by Mr. K.G.Ramachandran, Chairman & Managing Director of BHEL. A total amount of Rs. 25 lacs has been spent on the development of this park. This park will remain open from 5 PM to 7:30 PM in the summer and from 4 PM to 6:30 PM in the winter season. Thursday will be the weekly off.

The Silver Jubilee function of Mahila Kalyan Kendra was organized at Cultural Hall, Piplani. The Congress President Mrs Sonia Gandhi was the Chief Guest on this occasion. Mrs Madhuri Roy, President, BHEL Ladies Club is seen sitting on the dais alongwith Mr Digvijay Singh, Chief Minister, MP, Mr Ajit Jogi, Chief Minister, Chhatisgarh and other dignitaries.
Say Yes For Children forum was launched by HE Governor of MP Dr Bhai Mahavir on 30.4.2001 at BHEL Cultural Hall. Mr S.N.Roy, Executive Director, BHEL Bhopal was the Guest of Honor on this occasion. The forum has been jointly initiated by UNICEF and the British Library. The objective of this forum is to provide a platform to children to speak for themselves on issues most important to them
ATA Club organized a Variety Entertainment program on 28th April. The famous Quadir Orchestra Group of Nagpur enthralled the audience with their melodious songs and rhythms of orchestra. Mr. S.N. Roy, Executive Director inaugurated the program. Mr SK Vijh, General Manager/President, ATA Club, Mr. Bakshi, General Secretary and Mr. Buniyad Ali, Conveyer of the program were present on this occasion.
Mr. Harminder Raj Singh, Secretary, Industry & Export Promotion, Govt. of Uttar Pradesh, paid a courtesy call to Mr SN Roy, Executive Director, BHEL, Bhopal and held discussions with ED and other senior officials .

The 110th Birth Anniversary of Baba Sahab Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar was celebrated in BHEL Township. In a simple and impressive function organised at Ambedkar Park, Berkhera, Mr. SN Roy, Executive Director paid floral Tribute to Dr. Ambedkar.

The function was attended by senior officers of the plant, President SC/ST workers Union Mr. Dilip Jharia, Secretary Mr. S N Uikey, other office bearers and a large number of workers.
